McKinney-Vento
Homeless Education Services
McKinney-Vento is a federal program that protects the educational rights of students experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Its purpose is to ensure students can continue their education without interruption, even during difficult or temporary living situations.
Freedom Academy works to remove barriers to enrollment, attendance,
and academic success for eligible students and families.
Who May Qualify
A student may qualify if they lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence, including situations such as:

-
Sharing housing due to financial hardship or loss of housing
-
Living in a hotel or motel
-
Staying in a shelter
-
Living in a car, campground, or temporary setting
-
